AMERICA. NATION. LIBERTY.

Editorial standards

These standards apply to everything Patriot Today publishes.

Sources

  • Primary sources come first. We report from the original document whenever one exists: government data releases, court opinions and dockets, legislation and votes, regulatory filings, and official statements.
  • Every factual claim is linked to the source that supports it, and every story ends with a list of the sources used, with their publishers and dates.
  • When we rely on another news organization’s reporting, we name it in the text and link to it.
  • We do not publish anonymous claims we cannot check.

Accuracy and dates

  • Figures, names, titles and dates are checked against the source before publication.
  • Every story shows the date it was published. If a story changes in a way that matters to readers, it shows an updated date.
  • We quote people only from a record we can link to or a statement made to us on the record. We do not alter quotations.

Fairness

We report facts plainly and attribute disputed claims to the people who make them. When a story describes a dispute, it says who holds each position.

Elections

We do not publish instructions on how, when or where to vote. For registration deadlines, polling places and ID rules, we link to official state election offices and vote.gov.

Images

Photographs on Patriot Today are licensed stock images or public-domain works, including U.S. government photographs from Wikimedia Commons. Section images illustrate a subject area and do not depict the people or events in a particular story unless the story says so.

Corrections

We correct errors promptly and openly. See our corrections policy.
